The Gospel of Mark and The History of Mysticism are read and discussed in groups led by Philip McShane OP.

Two Discussion Groups at the Priory Institute

Interested parties are welcome to come any week to see if they like what they find in either or both of the seminars. The books can be ordered through the seminar if one wishes.
While waiting for books, we will work with photocopies.


Reading the Gospel of Mark (using Francis Moloney's commentary)

We are currently reading chapter 10 of Mark's Gospel. When we finish, we will continue with another New Testament book.

The History of Mysticism (using Bernard McGinn's series of books)

Meetings on alternate Thursdays, 7.30-9.00 p.m. (with Christmas and Easter breaks)
In this group, we are reading and discussing Bernard McGinn's celebrated work on Christian mysticism, currently we are at 1200-1350 AD. This should help us understand our prayer life more deeply and practice it more steadily.
