Advent Retreat 

 This year, the Priory Institute offers a Free of Charge Online Advent retreat given by Fr. John Harris OP  with reference to the four Advent Sunday gospel readings, it consists of a weekly reflection (approximately 15 minutes)  The relevant gospel readings may be downloaded by participants.

Fr Harris writes 'Pope Leo XIV recently preached "as we diligently labor in the service of God’s Kingdom, let us be neither hasty nor superficial.  Let us dig deep, unhindered by worldly criteria, which too often demand immediate results and disregard the wisdom of waiting."  Adventis the season in the Church when we live "the wisdom of waiting". I invite you to join me as we meditate in these four reflections on this wisdom of waiting.' 

Fr. John Harris OP was born in Limerick, 1963. He joined the Dominican Order in 1980 and was ordained priest in 1988.

Fr. John began his theological studies at the Dominican Studium of St. Mary’s, Tallaght, later studying at University College Dublin and Rome. He received his doctorate in 2004. Returning to Ireland he began his long association with the Priory Institute.

Fr. John has preached retreats and parish missions throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom and USA and Canada. In 2021 he was elected provincial and remains in that position, as such he is the Chair of the Board of the Priory Institute.
