Columba M Toman OP was ordained a Priest in 1999 and served in the Diocese of Down and Connor until he entered the Order of Preachers (The Dominicans) in 2016. He studied at the Queen’s University, Belfast where he was awarded a BSc (Hons) in The Biological Sciences, a MA in Scholastic Philosophy and a Doctorate (PhD) which focused on the concept of dignity and end-of-life care. He also studied at St Patrick’s Pontifical University, Maynooth, where he was awarded a BD(Hons) and a STL (Licence in Sacred Theology).

He has extensive pastoral and academic experience, including Parish Ministry, Hospital Chaplaincy, Hospice Chaplaincy, School Chaplaincy, Various Preaching engagements, lecturing on the Theology and Art of Preaching, various teaching and publishing opportunities, Online courses and Media Outreach. He was the Catholic Chaplain to the Queen’s University, Belfast, for 12 years, where he was a regular guest speaker in various courses in the School of Medicine. Recently, he was a Tutor, Assessor, and Supervisor in the Priory Institute. Currently, fr Columba M lectures in the Dominican Studium, in the Dominican House of Studies (St Saviour’s) Dublin, and is presently the Programme Leader for Undergraduate Studies in the Priory Institute.
